BuildHER Legacy LLC was created by two women who proudly call Fairfield, Alabama, home: Kendara Watts and Kyla Rooks. As former collegiate women's basketball athletes, we understand the power of hard work, perseverance, discipline, and teamwork. Those same values have shaped our journey and continue to drive the work we do today.
Growing up and seeing the needs within underserved communities, we developed a deep desire to make a difference. We know what it feels like to come from a community where resources and opportunities are not always easily accessible, and we believe that where you come from should never determine how far you can go.
Rooted in our faith, we created BuildHER Legacy LLC with a purpose greater than ourselves. Our mission is to give back, serve others, and help create stronger, more vibrant communities by providing access to safe, quality, and affordable housing.
We believe affordable housing should never mean sacrificing comfort, quality, or pride. That is why we take great pride in every property we renovate. Our homes are beautifully renovated, and maintained with the same care and attention to detail that we would want for our own families. We believe in a simple standard: if we wouldn't live there ourselves, we won't expect someone else to.
Through BuildHER Legacy LLC, we are committed to building more than houses. We are building hope, creating opportunities, and investing in the communities that shaped us to become the women we are today. We are passionate about leaving a legacy that extends beyond ourselves and helping families find a place they are proud to call home.
